Sometimes it can be hard to capture on film exactly what the eye sees. Luckily there are a few tips and tricks to help you jazz up your photography. HDR is a great way to provide depth and “pop” to your photography, and luckily it is extremely easy to do. All you need to do is ensure to take a series of bracketed images while you are travelling. The Photographers Guide to HDR Photography
- In order to make an HDR photograph you actually have to take three photographs first. Take three identical photographs with your exposure metre set to -1, 0, and +1. Most cameras have a setting called AEB (automatic exposure bracketing) where you can set the camera up to take these three photos automatically.
- Import your photos onto your computer.
- Open Photomatix Pro.
Select Load Bracketed Photos and select your photos from the pop up window.
- Another pop up will ask you if the photos were taken on a tripod or hand held. You can also select to reduce noise and reduce chromatic aberrations. Select those options as well.
- Your HDR photo will now be generated.
- Once your photo is generated, there are a few options to allow you to play with or adjust your photo even further. Voila! Finished!
